One of my favorite movies is Steel Magnolias, picture Ouiser wearing a funny hat, overalls and holding a bag of freshly picked tomatoes, she said that is what Southern women are supposed to do when they get old.

I might just be getting old, because I’ve been really wanting to get my hands gloves dirty and plant some stuff.
A vegetable garden is not going to happen, my MIL grows the best veggies and we all have more than we can eat and give away.
I want to plant pretty things this Spring, after the fit I had and stripped my flower beds naked they need help.

Normally I would just hang a few baskets and call it done, but I want to see some of these beauties in my flower beds:

See how the pic changes color? I want to grow some and play around to see if I can change their color.
I would love a big fluffy bunch of them in different colors, I especially love the green one because they are so different.
I’m stopping by a nursery today and see what they have.

I want some Spring bulbs too, I’ve given them away as gifts but I’ve always been to intimidated by them, I’ve been known to kill Ivy y’all!
I think I will get some in pots like these:

Once our friend Scott designs our landscaping and gets our soil just right I’ll plant some outside.

Have any of you grown bulbs of any kind? how did it go?

I’m so intimidated by these things, just look at them…

I am NOT a gardener.  I love that I live in a condo and do not have to touch anything… except to hang a couple baskets.  Dena IS A GARDENER.  She loves it.
