I had a check up today, and even though I have lost a considerable amount of weight it’s not enough to get me off the meds. I’m bummed.

Dr. J is really awesome and he spends as much time as I need, I never feel rushed but today I wanted to run the hell out of there real quick like yo!
He told me what I didn’t want to hear, he said the worst 3 letter word...GYM, as in I have to go to one, diet changes are not going to be enough for me.
I can diet with the best of them, I just go through depriving myself for 21 days on that cleanse, but I do not want to exercise, I don’t like it, I hate it actually and I would rather have a daily root canal than to break a sweat...so I am screwed.
My health insurance is phenomenal and has a great discount to a gym about 3 minutes from my house, they are open from 5am OMG! until 7pm...so I bit the bullet and signed up, I also signed up for a rewards program the Insurance Co. offers, I will earn points every time I go to the gym to be tortured. The rewards? not as exciting as I first thought, all of the items you earn are workout related, gift cards to Academy, exercise balls and such.
That’s what I need, to GROW some balls and go to the freaking gym huh?

I’ve been looking at the gym website for a while now, I got as far as adding their number to my BB contacts, I chose a trainer from the profiles and I have her cell phone number also, I just can’t bring myself to call her...Ugh!
She’s from California of course, all blond and tiny...perfect figure, big energetic smile...your usual nightmare.
She looks like a very young Joan Lunden, so that will be her name.
That will be the name I curse in this blog, y’all know I’m going to bitch whine and moan like no other...and I really hope she kicks my ass, because that is what I need.

I’ve been a blogging slug again, but I’m not giving up...unlike some of you Bees Smizzo, Friglet etc. etc.

I wish I had something exciting to write about but it’s boringville around here, I shouldn’t complain about that I guess because I sure don’t want drama.
So, what have I been doing, well I completed my 21 day cleanse and ended up losing 16 lbs. I’ve lost a total of 20 now. I feel like a new person smile
We are doing a few things around the house, why is it that re-decorating and remodeling is never ever done?
I will post some pics of what we’ve done this summer, my yard is still pitiful but at least our grass is green, the flower beds are naked still. I really wish I could get chosen by the Yard Crasher guy, I would cling to his leg until he agreed to go home with me!
That show is amazing...I want some of that magic in my yard.
I’m convinced that if I had a backyard Oasis I would be a much nicer person smile
That will be next Spring’s project...JR doesn’t know this yet, but I’ll start buttering him up around February smile

JR and I were at a couple’s get together on Saturday, and the men grouped in one room and the women in another.
So I’m sitting here with 3 other women about my age and one a little older, they all have grown kids and work full-time just like I do, we have a lot in common I guess but boy did I ever feel like a dummy when they started talking about books they’d read recently.
The last “book” I read was “Allure”.
I used to read a lot, a book or two at a time and that was just a few years ago, I love to read but I’ve gotten out of the habit somehow, I blame TV.
My wind down time is spent watching what I have on my beloved Tivo, while my books sit and collect dust.
I have 2 new books I got months ago and I have not opened them…
TV is dumbing me down...I used to have them smarts real good y’all!!
(Yes, that’s a joke I know that’s bad grammar...)

Have you read a great book lately?

Today is day 11 of my cleanse, I had totally forgotten it’s a milestone day!
I get to add fish and chicken today!!
I had a grilled chicken salad for lunch, I only ate half of it but it was good.

I’ve been thinking a lot about coffee lately, I tend to obsess about things i adore and coffee is one of my most favorite things, it’s a pleasure and one I don’t think I’m willing to give up.
Caffeine is bad for you, I read and hear that all of the time. Seriously, I don’t really care at this point. I’ve given it up 3 times and that will be the last of that bullshitery.
Once I’m done with the cleanse I am going to introduce coffee back into my day, maybe not my usual truckloads but you know...moderation.

Anyway...the first day on the cleanse JR grilled me some veggies to lessen the pain of missing my beloved MEAT...he made me some really delish kabobs:

Sassy Boots Photo

Of course he and The Girl had grilled shrimp and all kinds of other goodies, but I only threatened to skewer their eyeballs a couple of times that day.
It’s been a long long 11 days for JR.

(Shelly it’s the ~Standard~Process~Cleanse. It’s Dr. Monitored and all that jazz)

Today is day 10 of a cleanse I’m doing.
I’ve been eating only fresh fruits and veggies, some supplements of course but yeah...it’s going well now, but let me tell you the first day was HORRIFIC!
Kicking Coffee CRACK is not pretty!
The headache almost made me commit Hari Kari, I’ve never had such withdrawl before, and maybe it’s because I had been drinking more coffee than usual, but I kept thinking “How do people kick drugs???” because it was a bitch.

So after day 3 I got in the groove, I still want a steak but I also want salads and steamed vegetables and I don’t crave sweets, my blood sugar has been normal and I have not had to take my meds for that.
I have another 11 days to go, and I know I’ll go back to eating meats and eggs and whatever else, but I will make better choices because of what I’ve learned and how I feel.
I have lots of energy, my mind is sharper and I just feel good.
One great plus to all of this is the weight loss. Nine pounds so far.
Friday I can add lean chicken and fish, so the rest of the days are going to be a breeze.

Have any of you ever done any type of clease?
