I’m still around, I just have a lot going on right now but hopefully things will fall into place soon.

It’s not very often that I say I cannot wait for the weekend to be over, but this weekend was such a freaking whipping that it can’t end soon enough for me.

I’m too exhausted to go into it, but I will give you an idea...it’s 7pm and I just now got to shower, between JR and I we’ve cleaned more poopy butts and puke than we may have with our own kids.
After he took the grands back JR asked if I wanted to go to dinner or a movie, I could not muster the energy to laugh hysterically so I think I grabbed my chin with my hands and shook it from side to side, not sure but if he didn’t get my answer, the fact that I stared at the wall without being able to blink for 20 minutes got my point across.

All of you who had more than one child, I don’t know how you did it because there is no way I could do this full-time. 2 days did me in.

One of my SIL’s resolution this year was to simplify her life in any way possible, I don’t see her much to know what all she’s done but the other day I saw her come into the restaurant with a tiny wristlet instead of a purse, I complimented her on it and she said that she’s been carrying just that since January...I’m sure my mouth dropped to my chin.
There is no way in hell I could do that, I have tried to lessen the load a few time because frankly after a while my back and shoulders hurt from the heavy handbag toting.

She just keeps her money, a lipstick, DL, cell phone and her credit/debit cards in it, that’s it.
My keys weigh more than her entire bag…

So I went home and tried to minimize what I carry in my handbag, it was not easy and I feel like I’m missing some very important things, like my blood meter which doesn’t weigh much but is bulky, I keep one at work so that’s O.K.
I eliminated my big heavy wallet, which had so much change in it that you’d think I’d robbed a street performer.
I got a 3 ring slim planner that I was able to customize with just what I needed instead of the bulky ones I have collecting dust around the house, I put in a few business card holders to keep my DL, debit, credit cards, gift cards and discount cards organized, now they get used finally, I added a zip pencil bag for receipts so they don’t end up bunched up at the bottom of my bag.
I also got a small spiral calendar, I’m not good about adding appointments to my Blackberry.

I picked out just 1 lipstick and 1 lip gloss, and of course my trusty SPF 70.

We’ll see how it goes.

This past weekend was one of the busiest we’ve had in a very long time, we had to get ready for Bebe’s birthday party on Sunday, we had it at my in-laws’ and JR grilled burgers and hot dogs in 103 degree heat...now that is love!
Somehow we had it all ready and set up by the time everyone arrived.
The baby had a great time, I still have a hard time believing he’s such a big boy.
Last night after dinner JR and I decided to go see him, we’re weak like that. We had to share him with so many people this weekend...we just had to go get our fix.

On Sunday while JR and his dad were outside grilling all of the women were in the kitchen chopping and cutting and doing womanly things, all of the women except for me of course because I am usually pretty useless in the kitchen, and really I’m OK with that it’s not that I can’t cook it’s that I can’t cook to the level of great cooks like my MIL.
So all of this prep work is being done and I’m just watching and keeping everyone entertained with my awesome wit, when my MIL in all of her sweet Southern charm hands me the new bottles of ketchup, mustard and relish.
“Sassy honey, here is something you can do sweetheart...take the lids off of these, pull the plastic tabs off and screw the lids back on for me”
Five sets of eyes whip around to look at me to either see my reaction or maybe to see if I can actually manage that task, I’m not really sure which but I’m OK with either one, I know my talents are not in the culinary arts by any means. It just tickled me so much that I cracked up laughing “I don’t know mom, I don’t know if I can remember all that....are you sure you want me to try this? what if I screw it up??”
She said “Oh honey I didn’t mean to imply that that is all you can do, that’s just what I need help with right now”
We all had a good laugh at my expense, that’s what I do people, I spread joy wherever I go!
