Last night I was going through a magazine I got in the mail, I saw something that made me go find my phone so I could send a picture to Misty, Smizzo and Friglet

Our beloved Palm Treo...that was the shit back then.
It made me think about all of the other cell phones I had before, and of course I thought of my very first one:

Not only was that thing huge by today’s standards, but it was so heavy! not comfortable against your ear either, which was a good thing since I believe I got 100 free minutes and each additional minute was 40 cents, that was 1996 and we’ve come a long way baby!
Before cell phones, we had pagers. I had one of these first:

It was always clipped to the side of my purse, I think I paid $20 a month for that.
The thing I remember most was trying to decipher messages on it, since it was numeric only, people got clever, and would send something like: 456838 and you’d have to look at your phone, and figure it out...that was iloveu by the way:)
Soon pagers became more advanced and I got one of these:

It was a lot lighter and the screen was much bigger.
The ultimate was when alpha-numeric pagers came out:

They were the size of a VCR and weighed as much. To get a message to someone you’d have to call the special number for the pager company, and operator would answer, you’d give her the pager number and the message, she would type it and send it.
Crazy!
I’m off to dry hump my Blackberry.
