Last night I was going through a magazine I got in the mail, I saw something that made me go find my phone so I could send a picture to Misty, Smizzo and Friglet

Our beloved Palm Treo...that was the shit back then.

It made me think about all of the other cell phones I had before, and of course I thought of my very first one:

Not only was that thing huge by today’s standards, but it was so heavy! not comfortable against your ear either, which was a good thing since I believe I got 100 free minutes and each additional minute was 40 cents, that was 1996 and we’ve come a long way baby!

Before cell phones, we had pagers. I had one of these first:

It was always clipped to the side of my purse, I think I paid $20 a month for that.
The thing I remember most was trying to decipher messages on it, since it was numeric only, people got clever, and would send something like: 456838 and you’d have to look at your phone, and figure it out...that was iloveu by the way:)

Soon pagers became more advanced and I got one of these:

It was a lot lighter and the screen was much bigger.

The ultimate was when alpha-numeric pagers came out:

They were the size of a VCR and weighed as much. To get a message to someone you’d have to call the special number for the pager company, and operator would answer, you’d give her the pager number and the message, she would type it and send it.
Crazy!

I’m off to dry hump my Blackberry.

I love that, just loooove it! that phrase, when done correctly, amuses me to no end.
Because you know, I’m a 10 year old boy inside.

I surround myself with equally juvenile people.
Obviously...here are the comments from Misty and Friglet, when I wrote about getting a new bed a few posts back:

Misty: So what the hell kind of bed is it?  And why did you need a new one freak?
Friglet: Did you wear out your old bed with “Dark Time”?

To answer Misty’s question, we got this bed, in a King that is so tall that I almost need a boost to get in it, with me being 5’ 1”...it’s kind of like mounting a horse..."That’s what she said”

Yesterday morning I busted my ass took a little tiny spill, and when I did my Blackberry took a swim.
In my head it happened in slow motion, but that’s not how it went down, that sucker flew out of my hand and sank into a huge puddle like a rock in 1/2 a second.

I was too busy to worry about it yesterday, I was bogged down with work.
Once I got ready to leave the office it was a different story.
What if I ran out of gas? I had a full tank.
What if I needed to call JR? I had just talked to him.
What if I had an accident? *knock on wood*

The big question and the reality is, what if I got BORED?
If there’s nothing good on the radio, and if I’ve forgotten my iPod, or it has fallen under my seat again...then what? I call people.
JR is my usual victim pick, if he’s not available I call my cousin or anyone else I can think of at the time.
You’d think that after a day at work being bombarded with emails, and reading blogs, tweets, Facebook other stuff (yes, I love me some STRIKE) I would welcome a quiet ride home, but no.

I made it home with little consequence.
Once there I was alright, except when it came time to check, double check and triple check that my alarm was set.
Insert much whining here..."Honaaaayyy...how am I going to waaaaake uuuuuup???? OMGeeeeee!!!!!”
He said he’d set his phone for me too.
O.K.

I woke up once during the night, but I don’t know what time it was, because my phone was not there, next to me...and I can’t see the alarm clock from my bed...because I’m blind as a bat...which is why I NEED my phone on the night stand!

I don’t know, the replacement is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
Have you ever had a phone actually arrive when they promised? yeah...me either.
What usually happens is, the guy who always leaves the packages on the porch, you know like my new $$$$$ laptop, or a frozen kidney to transplant or something, decides that he needs a SIGNATURE...because OMG it’s coming from Sp*int...it must be very expensive and important.
I’ve driven an hour to pick up a cell phone from the UPS office before, and chased down my female-man too...for a CELL phone!
Can you imagine the lengths I will go to for my beloved alarm clock/security blanket/entertainment center/BFF???
This could get ugly.
I might need to stay home tomorrow...I feel a virus coming on.

Can I just say that I have so much work to do today, that I am too overwhelmed about where to start...so I decided to blog, and log onto Pinterest.
That’s how I deal with deadlines, don’t judge.

Four cups of coffee rapidly downed, and I still don’t feel 100% awake. I blame our new bed, the most amazingly comfy and delicious bed I’ve ever laid on, I just never want to get out of it...ever.
I think about it off and on all day, I can’t wait to get home and get in it!
We haven’t made the bed since the first day we got it, that was NYE.

Obsessed, I am.

Why did I just go into Yoda talk?
Hmmm...back to work I must go.

JR and I spent NYE with friends, met some new ones and had great time, goodbye 2011.

I’m not sad to see the year end, it was not the best although some great things came along, I’m looking forward to a fresh start.
I don’t make resolutions, but this year I’ve made myself the promise to be better.
A better me, a better wife, mom, daughter and just love my family and friends differently, spend more time with those I love and value those relationships that I’ve been blessed to have.
I’m going to treat myself better as well, I feel that’s the key to a happier me and those I love will benefit as well.
I’m excited about the possibilities.

Happy new year to all of you, my blog buddies...hope to see and read more of y’all in 2012

I’m still in my pajamas, I’ve done a whole lot of nothing except eat the last 2 days, I’m watching Diners Drive Ins and Dives and thinking about Banana Pudding...again...I do believe this is what we call rock bottom.

I’m blogging, that’s a positive thing, maybe I’m not too far gone.

Christmas came and went, it amazes me how fast it’s over each year. We spent time with both families over the weekend, ate too much and got way too much stuff, bring on 2012.

We’re going to a NYE party...I hope I can fit into my clothes then, I feel so bloated and gross but yet, still thinking about some Banana Pudding, geez!

I sent out Christmas cards this week, Real live cards, the kind that require something to be written in them, addresses and stamps.
I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve done that, it feels good.

I also got Christmas packages mailed, way before the deadline for delivery by Christmas. I am the absolute worse at mailing packages, Smizzo, Friglet and Misty can attest to that, they usually get their birthday gifts late as all hell...months and months late.

I have most of the gifts wrapped, and I only need to buy a few more things. JR is going shopping with me Friday morning, brave soul.
This Holiday thing is actually under control this year, and I’m feeling kind of on top of things...hmmm...look at me go.
