It’s been a slow week, not many pics to show for what I did...what did I do? can’t think that hard this early in the morning.

Yesterday was a busy day and SO HOT...why do we live here??? (I ask myself this daily from April to late November)
We bought a new bed, window treatment and a deliciously $$$ soft sheet set for our room.
I can’t wait to go home and try our new bed today...I’m a dork, I know.

In between all the shopping we stopped at Chili*s for lunch and a refreshing drink, I had my favorite Calypso Cooler:

I love to people-watch, I got quite a show with this couple:

Her hair...bleached within an inch of it’s life was what first caught my curiosity, but then I noticed how they were sitting with their legs kind of intertwined...she kept rubbing his leg in a non-Chili*s acceptable kind of way:

Also notice the guy on the right, he looks like he’s so beaten down...was it his wife yapping? the drinks were too weak? too strong? the leg rubbing across the bar?
I’m easily amused.

The person who amuses me the most is JR of course, he really is one of the funniest people on the planet to me, he shares that title with Misty, and that girl is FUNNAY!.
I was innocently sipping my Coke Slurpee (it was 103 yesterday!!!!)

When I heard JR say “Damn, that is the REDNECKIEST truck I’ve seen in my life! Look at those BIG-O BALLS!

He knows about Rednecks, he grew up in the country and I never let him forget it!
Did you notice the pipes behind the back window? the purpose of that is to make the truck look like an 18 wheeler, according to Redneck JR...and he should know

Some days are a bit challenging though, not so much for me as it turns out, mostly for JR, the poor man...seriously.
In the past 24 hours I’ve been a bitch on wheels, it’s not even 10 o’clock and I’ve already made a pistol hand signal, cocked and shot make believe bullets at someone...and yes she deserved it!

JR, the long suffering JR, bless his big manly heart...last night I was all over the map, happy-sad-happy-mad-happy-bitchy, the last thing I said whined to him before falling asleep was “You don’t like me anymore!”.
Ha!
Yeah, I don’t know.

This morning he was a bit scared to talk to me quiet...I wonder what’s up his ass?? ugh! MEN!

I changed my hours at work starting Monday, I love how quiet it is before everyone else gets here.
Everyone else is supposed to be here only 30 minutes after I am but...since they are always late, it gives me almost an hour of bliss!
Not a bad way to start my work day.

I am a very talkative person, as a kid my dad would pay me to be quiet, I always ended up giving the money back a few minutes later, I just had/have to talk.

So it’s odd how much I enjoy my quiet time, I love being here with just the hum of the computer and the coffeemaker...the calm before the storm.

Misty has referred to my nails as Talons...like I tell her, “Natural” is not for everyone, she is naturally a blond bombshell...me? not so much, actually not even close bud!

I have an important meeting today and I was obsessing about it last night, I BB IM’ed my bees and asked for advise on outfits, and then I took a pic of my hand and sent it to them. the caption was “Should I get a cut down before tomorrow’s meeting??”

I already KNEW Miss Misty would have something to say, and of course the other two did too...tough crowd I run with I’m telling you.

This morning I filed my “Talons” down to a more professional BORING length, and when I finished my desk looked like a scene from “Less Than Zero”, and I just had to share.

There are things in my house that I really love, some things I just keep because I don’t want an empty space, things I have because they have been gifts and then there are things I am not sure about.

In the next few weeks we are going to paint the mantle, not loving the white anymore. I’m thinking about a dark brown distressed look.
JR also wants to cover the brick with rock or stucco, something more updated.

I don’t care for the table, okay I’ll be real...I hate the durn thing! but JR bought it from his brother...anyway, I think we need a larger piece of furniture there, something with more presence like these:

This used to hang over our mantle, but it’s in our bedroom now...I’m falling our of love with it, do you ever do that? love something for a long time and then one day you wake up and say “Ewwwwww!!!”?

Funny thing, I saw it on a decorating site the other day, so I guess someone else loves(loved) it too:

Our kitchen...I hate the color we painted it 2 years ago, and it’s a weird shape which drives me insane at times, but there are certain areas of it that I love...what I don’t love are the popcorn ceiling, the blah cabinets and the lack of window treatments. I love Roosters and Chickens can you tell?

Next time I have a bout with bravery I will snap some pictures of our landscaping, we’re supposed to be working on it this weekend...I’ll take some before shots, cross your fingers that the rain stays away this weekend.

I have been so bored with our bathroom, it was so blah and had no personality, we just never really took time to do anything about it because other than JR and I no one sees it.
The forgotten room still has fugly vinyl flooring...yes, 1995 vinyl.
I would take a picture of it but it’s just too embarrassing, and you so know you would judge me!

We’re getting tile in a few weeks, so I thought I should start doing something with it. If JR would just let go of his manliness I would girl it up something fierce, like this:

I’ve come up with something I love and won’t compromise the testosterone balance in the house, it all started with something I found at Hobby Lobby:

I also bought a mirror, shelf and tray to match there, I didn’t get a picture of the tray and the shelf is empty because I can’t find perfume atomizers I just love, but you get the idea:

I love my Hobby Lobby! in the kitchen decor area I found what is my absolute favorite thing in the room:

We don’t have a shower which needs a curtain, so it hangs in front of the toilette alcove (sounds fancy huh?)...I have issues, I don’t like toilets, even watching toilet cleaner commercials makes me cringe...so I had a black curtain there before but this one is 100 times better.

And since I’m showing off black and white things, I just have to show y’all my Sissy baby in her throne:

She is currently in big trouble, JR was very annoyed with her this morning because she pooped on the floor...he even called her a mutt :(
